Rock Hill, SC

Stephanie DiStasio joins TSG Advisors – Education in 2024 after a more than 20-year career in education. She is a seasoned leader in education policy with a proven track record of driving impactful change from the schoolhouse to the statehouse.

Beginning as a middle school French teacher, Stephanie’s career in education was born out of a love for the French language and a happenstance decision to take a teaching elective. As a teacher, Stephanie established a curriculum, integrating various teaching techniques to cultivate an authentic experience for her students. As her teaching career grew, she took on more leadership roles, including piloting a French language immersion program and serving as an Assistant Principal and Principal at Rock Hill Schools in South Carolina.

Ultimately, Stephanie took her experience, knowledge, and skills to the state level. As the Executive Director of the Division of College & Career Readiness with the South Carolina Department of Education, she has spearheaded cross-office projects, collaborated with legislative teams, and developed innovative strategies to advance learner-centered practices in South Carolina.

Under Stephanie’s leadership, South Carolina designed measurable competencies for the profile of the South Carolina graduate, built a wide array of practical tools for educators, and published a flexibility guide and playbook to highlight the possibilities of personalized, competency-based learning for district leaders.

Stephanie is a leader who can evaluate challenges in the education industry from every angle – parent, teacher, principal, and state-level administrator. As a Senior Advisor of K-12 at TSG Advisors – Education, Stephanie aims to leverage her experience and expertise to guide clients through challenges in the education industry. Stephanie lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina with her husband and two children.
