Sheela VanHoose is the Founder and Managing Principal of TSG Advisors-Education, an implementation firm she launched in 2023 to help clients bridge the gap between policy and practice. With over a decade of experience in education policy and public affairs, Sheela specializes in turning complex legislation into real-world results. She advises clients across early childhood, K–12, and higher education on implementation strategy, public procurement, and stakeholder engagement.

Sheela is also a shareholder and the education practice lead at The Southern Group, Florida’s largest lobbying firm. In this capacity, she has secured appropriations wins for computer science professional development, education technology, and intervention programs. She has also advanced school safety policy, championed efforts around textbook affordability and technology integration, all while helping clients navigate the Florida Legislature, the Florida Department of Education, and local school districts.

Previously, Sheela served as Director of State Government Affairs for Code.org, leading policy efforts across 15 states. She also held leadership roles with Charter Schools USA and Broward County Public Schools, where she led the successful $800 million SMART bond referendum campaign.

Sheela holds a Master’s in Education Policy and Leadership from American University and a Bachelor’s in English from Nova Southeastern University. She currently serves on the Florida Advisory Board for Cognia and the Board of Directors for Tech Hub South Florida, and has been recognized as Nova’s Distinguished Alumna of the Year and a 2024 Above & Beyond honoree by The News Service of Florida.

A former U.S. National Karate Team member and black belt, Sheela brings fierce discipline and drive to her work. She lives in Tallahassee with her husband and daughter.
