ABOUT / Katie Grissom

Katie Grissom joined TSG Advisors – Education in 2024 after spending more than ten years in higher education. She brings a wide array of experiences and skillsets to the firm, including workforce development, academic program development, grant management, and degree planning. Katie’s passion for supporting students’ education drives her work in the education industry.

Most recently, Katie served as the Director of Workforce and Academic Alignment for the Florida Department of Education (FDOE). In this role, she worked in the Division of Florida Colleges to execute state-mandated workforce education projects. While at FDOE, Katie also managed over $80 million in grant funding across five projects to over 100 educational entities.

Before FDOE, Katie worked within the Florida State University’s Provost Office. Leveraging data, Katie analyzed university policies and procedures for effectiveness, and helped increase the university’s retainment and graduation rates. Katie also provided consulting services to FSU–Panama City to develop new policies and procedures to support transfer students.

Katie started her career as an academic advisor at Florida State University, where her love for helping students began. After guiding students to graduation success, Katie knew she wanted to focus her career on helping students reach their full potential. In addition to assisting students with advising, Katie served as an adjunct Professor at FSU from 2014 to 2020.

Katie earned her bachelor’s in social science education and a master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Florida State University. Katie lives in Tallahassee with her husband and three children.
