Alix Miller
Senior Principal
Transportation
Tallahassee, FL

Alix Miller has held leadership roles across transportation, public affairs, brand management and education for more than 20 years.

She most recently served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Florida Trucking Association (FTA). During this time, Miller guided FTA through a transformative era, strengthening the association’s political influence, expanding membership, and achieving landmark policy victories that have reshaped the state’s motor carrier landscape.

Under Miller’s leadership, FTA was instrumental in achieving sweeping lawsuit-abuse reforms, dramatically curbing predatory legal practices and improving the insurance market. Through multi-year coalition-building with lawmakers, business groups, and national partners, she spearheaded one of the most impactful legal reforms in the state’s history for the trucking industry.

Miller has elevated freight policy as a statewide priority by forging strong, collaborative relationships with state and federal agencies and private stakeholders in ports, rail, and air cargo. Her advocacy has driven major investments in workforce training, supply chain, safety technologies, freight-mobility planning, and multi-modality, positioning Florida as the national leader in available truck-parking capacity and as one of the most proactive states in addressing cargo theft and regulatory challenges.

Prior to FTA, she served as Vice President of Accounts at an award-winning public relations firm, leading lobbying and strategic communications for high-profile clients including the Pew Charitable Trusts. She was Press Secretary at the Florida Department of Education and managed marketing and corporate development as West Coast Brand Manager for a luxury chocolate brand, Vosges Haut-Chocolat. Earlier in her career, Miller was an Assistant Professor and Director of Dance at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she was credited for her innovative and creative solutions by establishing the state’s first and only Dance Education major and serving on the Tennessee State Board of Education to codify academic standards and curriculum.

Recognized for her vision and expertise, Miller is a regular public speaker throughout the country on transportation issues, receiving the American Trucking Associations’ President’s Leadership Award and being named to Florida Trend’s Florida 500 list of the state’s most influential leaders. She has served on numerous boards, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Transportation and Logistics Advisory Council and the Florida International University Logistics & Supply Chain Advisory Board, and was appointed by Secretary Jared Perdue to the FDOT Florida Transportation Plan Steering Committee. She holds a BA from Tulane University, both an MFA and PhD from Florida State University, and is a graduate of The Wharton School’s Global Supply Chain Management Program.
